    Time: 9am - 5pm

    Course Description

It is absolutely incredible how our bodies are constantly trying to correct our alignment but in doing so we end up with so many muscle imbalances leading to increased tension
    and poor posture.

When the fascia and musculature of our upper body and neck region become tight, from postural strains or injuries, it can create pain and tension in our anterior, lateral or posterior neck regions as well as pain and dysfunction at our temporomandibular joints.

Please join me in exploring how to assess and treat this area using fascial techniques and exercises to bring about decreased tension, pain and dysfunction, while restoring alignment.

    What you will learn:

    • How to assess for head, neck and jaw imbalances.
    • The relationships that the muscles of the upper body and pelvis region have with each other and their role in imbalances of the head, neck and jaw.
    • How to address the fascial tension of the anterior and posterior upper body, as well as the head, neck and jaw.
    • How to put an effective treatment plan together to treat the head, neck and jaw region and surrounding tissue.
    • Hands on techniques and practice to treat the head, neck and jaw region.
    • Stretches to isolate specific muscles and their matching fascia.

    Happy Fall everyone,

With a number of weeks left in 2018, Lori and Patricia want to extend an invite to you. We are hosting our Pelvic/Sacral workshop this November on the Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th. We have updated our course over the years and this workshop includes *NEW* techniques for the pubic symphysis subluxations as well as 2 sacral dysfunctions.

This will be our last workshop of the year, you can find registration here:
    http://www.mtacademy.ca/courses--registration.html

This course uses a systematic approach to assess and treat joint imbalances in the pelvic/sacral complex through muscle contraction that is beneficial when examining:
    • SI joint pain and dysfunction
    • chronic low back pain
    • DDD
    • Disc dysfunction
    • hip pain and discomfort
    • thoracic and neck pain/headaches
    We will look at:
    • Pubic symphysis dysfunction
    • Upslips/downslips
    • Inflares/outflares
    • Iliac rotations
    • Sacral rotations along 2 different axis' as well and unilateral sacral dysfunctions
This course isn't simply a bunch of techniques, we look at root of dysfunction to help properly restore motion and function in the pelvis and sacrum for improved dynamic function of one body.

One of our participants had this to say:

"The information you both are sharing is AMAZING and very effective and beneficial to a variety treatment conditions!I don't really need new clientele. I do very well in my practice - I didn't even have business cards for crying out loud! BUT... From applying these techniques in my treatments I have had 12 NEW REFERRALS since December in my St John's clinic alone asking for this protocol because they have someone that has been having amazing results from my treatments!!"

Hope to see you in Halifax!

What is Reiki? DragonFly Release - Reiki Training

Everyone’s experience of Reiki will be different and there are many styles of Reiki being taught today, many of which bear little resemblance to the original teachings of its founder, Mikao Usui. Jeff Phillips is a fully qualified Reiki Master/Teacher, having received his training from Reiki Evolution in the UK.

At Dragonfly Release our teachings closely follow the material developed by Taggart King, the founder of Reiki Evolution. This is a very simple, uncluttered style which is easy to follow as you take your first steps towards bringing Reiki into your life.

We recognise that everyone learns in different ways and at a different pace. To this end initial training is undertaken at your own pace in your own home using a detailed manual and other media as study aids – provided on flash drive. As your Reiki Master/Teacher, Jeff will be available to you during this time via email, and telephone if appropriate, should you have any questions about your learning.

You will arrive at the practical training with already knowing much of the theory behind the Usui method of Reiki. This will help ensure you gain the most from your practical training.

The manuals and media are yours to keep so that you may refer back to them after your practical training. Following the practical training you will be invited to contact Jeff and secure your personal 21 day support package to help you establish your own daily Reiki routine within your life.

Reiki is simple to learn and anyone can learn it. Reiki is not a religion and it is practised by people from all walks of life. On an introductory “First Degree” course you will be connected to the energy (‘attuned’) and learn how to use Reiki for your own benefit and for others. You will also learn a simple set of ‘rules to live by’ set down by Reiki’s founder Mikao Usui.

At the end of the course you will receive a certificate of completion and then your own Reiki journey will truly begin. Like anything else you learn you will get out of Reiki what you put into it. So if you want to gain a deeper understanding you will want to begin to establish a daily routine that will incorporate Reiki into your life. Dragonfly Release can help you do this so you will not feel alone after you have completed your First Degree training.

    Fascial Approaches: The Shoulder

    2018 Dates:

    • October 13 & 14 (Moncton, NB)
    • November 24 & 25 (Halifax, NS)

    Investment: $400 (includes HST)

    Time: 9am - 5pm

    Course Description

The shoulder joint, is the most flexible joint in the body. It is surrounded and influenced by over a dozen muscles which allow it the greatest ranges of motion possible of any joint of the body. When the integrity of this joint is affected by trauma, most of these muscles and their associated fascia will respond by creating excessive tensile forces to protect this area from any further harm.

Upper trapezius and levator scapula muscles when they are stressed by physical, mental and emotional trauma as well as posture can take on a seemingly solidified texture.

Join us in exploring how to assess and treat this area using fascial techniques and exercises to bring about release to the muscles and fascia of the shoulder region.

    What you will learn:

    • How to assess for shoulder imbalances.
    • Understanding the relationships that the muscles of the shoulder region have with each other and their role in the imbalance.
    • How to address the fascial tension of the anterior and posterior upper body.
    • Fascial treatment for specific musculature.
    • How to put an effective treatment plan together to treat the shoulder region and surrounding tissue.
    • Hands on techniques and practice to treat the shoulder region.
    • Stretches to isolate specific muscles and their coinciding fascia.

The Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS) for Manual Therapists

    Course Description

Imagine being able to find the source of the patient's pain without looking at charts or following innervation pathways, but instead being able to find it by listening to their body. Sounds impossible to learn? It is easier than you think.

The VAS is a tool that will guide the therapist directly and quickly to areas in the body that are sending an SOS signal. This allows you to use it as an assessment tool for finding the problem, but you can also measure the effectiveness of your treatment.

This take-away skill will open a doorway of endless possibilities and will be immediately applicable in your clinical practice.
