Course Description

Day 1

• Recognize the history of cupping around the world and its uses throughout cultures
  
• Recall the evolution of techniques and materials throughout the ages, contemporary uses and recent research on cupping
  
• Identify the difference between wet and dry cupping methods
  
• Identify the 3 types of cups most commonly used
  
• Recognize the 3 depths of cupping
  
• Identify the 3 types of dry cupping techniques most commonly used
  
• Classify the significance of cupping marks
  
• Understand the ethics and professional standards of applying cups
  
• List the indications, contraindications and precautions in cupping therapy
  
• Apply proper sanitization methods to cupping equipment
  
• Demonstrate basic cupping techniques
  

Day 2

• Identify specific East Asian Medicine terminology
  
• Differentiate between excess & deficient; heat and cold conditions and how they present in the body
  
• Understand and identify 5 types of cupping marks
  
• Apply 4 types of cupping styles
  
• Use silicone cups to treat musculoskeletal conditions of the shoulder, lumbosacral, abdominal and legs
  
• Use silicone cups to treat muscular tension in the torso associated with respiratory conditions
  
• Apply cupping techniques to the face and neck
  
• Drape and treat clients in prone, sidelying and supine positions
