This workshop presents Principles that comprise a process of safely reclaiming one’s physical independence.
Principles will replace Protocols. We will be shelving notions of isolating individual muscles, Reps and Sets, and instead focusing on functional applications in daily life.
After all, a single anatomical structure never operates in complete isolation.
We will define and focus on what the individual can do rather than on physical limitations. This approach affords them the opportunity to simultaneously develop confidence and progress
their condition on a path to reclaiming their desired lifestyle.
Participants will be guided through the process of discovering what movements they currently have access to and how to refine and progress them. They will quickly learn that developing more youthful mobility and strength IS possible, but that it requires a shift in our thinking.
Tasks involved in this process will include movement challenges and games; individual movement exploration; and partner challenges.
We will then apply these practices to clinical scenarios in order to equip participants with real strategies that can be practiced for themselves and taught to clients and patients.
