    Introduction:

At the Massage Therapists' and Wholistic Practitioners' Association of the Maritimes (MTWPAM), we are proud to emphasize our unwavering commitment to excellence in education and training within the fields of massage, wholistic practice, and complementary alternative therapies.

We take great pride in our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and fostering the development of our members' expertise.

MTWPAM is a trusted volunteer-run organization, providing a platform for those eager to enhance their knowledge and skills in various modalities of healthcare treatment.

    Diverse Modalities:

MTWPAM firmly believes in promoting the diversity of modalities available to our members. Our members possess a wide range of skills and expertise, and we encourage them to explore and develop their potential.

We support our members in becoming fully trained and certified in these modalities, ensuring that they adhere to the rigorous standards and codes of practice set forth by MTWPAM. This commitment ensures that our members offer a comprehensive and 'wholistic' approach to healthcare, tailored to their clients' unique needs and preferences.

    Flexibility and Integration:

For members who have obtained the necessary liability insurance coverage, incorporating elements of their training, such as Acupuncture , Cupping or TCM techniques, into their daily practice is not only allowed but actively encouraged. This flexibility allows our members to provide a more comprehensive and personalized approach to their clients' well-being, delivering a higher level of care.

    Balanced Approach:

It's important to note that, while our members are free to integrate various modalities into their practice, the majority of their treatments must include massage therapy elements to be billed with healthcare benefit providers such as Blue Cross or Canada Life.

This ensures that our members adhere to the guidelines set by these providers, maintaining the integrity of healthcare practices and ensuring the best outcomes for patients and the industry as a whole.

    Conclusion:

MTWPAM remains committed to fostering excellence in education and training, encouraging the diverse use of modalities, and upholding the highest standards of professional conduct. We are dedicated to supporting our members as they strive to offer the best possible care to their clients while promoting 'wholistic' well-being in the field of complementary alternative healthcare.

Thank you for your continued support of MTWPAM and our mission to provide the highest quality of healthcare services in Nova Scotia.
