2200-Hour Certification for Massage Therapists
If you are looking to become a 2200-hour trained Massage Therapist there are a few schools in this province that may allow you to challenge for credit OR offer some advanced credits for your previous studies. MTWPAM has no affiliation or involvement in the operation of these educational institutions.
Nova Scotia Schools
- Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy
- Eastern College
- ICT Northumberland College (Currently Closed)
- Island Career Academy
Provincial/Territory Schools
Massage Therapy Training Schools in other provinces and territories (except for Quebec) that are members of the Canadian Council of Massage Therapy Schools provide 2200 hour certifications:

Quebec Schools
Massage Therapy Schools in Quebec may be considered if documentation delineating the equivalency of the 2200-hour requirement is provided. Please refer to this listing of Educational Institutions in Quebec. Please note that acceptance in Quebec, while a third party acceptance, does not mean immediate approval for membership.
International Schools
International schools may also be considered based on the confirmation of 2200-hour equivalent training by a third-party credentialing service such as WES or ICAS. MTWPAM does not have the capacity or capability to perform any form of prior learning assessment.
Wholistic Practitioners / Therapists
Those without the 2200 hour requirement may apply to our other membership levels based on the supported modalities.
