The Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners’ Association of the Maritimes (MTWPAM) has been part of the wellness community since 1994. Since then, we have become the fastest growing Massage Association in Eastern Canada. We offer clients our best education with ongoing opportunities for learning and practicing our craft. There is a large base of modalities accepted and varying ranges of policy pricing options. It is always the responsibility of each member to ensure his or her qualifications satisfy the
requirements of the policy application. Scope of practice may vary. For those who work with children please anticipate a surcharge. For further questions, please contact the broker directly. Holman’s offers several payment options. There are also several ways to send your application and to receive your insurance policy which may speed up the MTWPAM application process.

Preventative Health Services
Both Professional Malpractice and General Liability Insurance are offered by Preventative Health Services for massage therapists and wholistic modalities.
It is the responsibility of each member to ensure that his or her qualifications satisfy the requirements of the policy application. Some modalities may see an increase of fees.

Full Membership
To apply for Full Membership status as a
Registered Massage Therapist or a
Wholistic Practitioner, please download the respective application.
Student Membership
Student membership is also available to all students of recognised Massage and Wholistic training programs.
To apply for Student Membership status, please download the application.
Renewal Membership
Renewal membership is due January 1. If payment is not post-marked by January 15, a late payment charge will be added. If payment plus the late charge is not received by February 1, your membership will lapse. Lapsed memberships may be reactivated on payment of a processing fee plus the annual membership dues.

Malpractice and General Liability Insurance
Malpractice insurance is a mandatory requirement of joining MTWPAM. The board has decided to accept Malpractice and General Liability insurance from various providers. This allows our members to find what works best for them. If you are a transferring therapist from another province of Canada and would like to keep your current insurance policy you may do so. For our new applicants we have two options for insurance that our members find beneficial. On average Malpractice and General Liability Insurance for
our members can range in cost from $255- $375 per year depending on the modalities and amount of insurance coverage desired.
